Sophia Hayman

Right BACK

A hard-working right fullback/right back who dominates almost every 1v1 battle. Sophia is a player that you can rely on to win the ball back after your team has lost possession as she has the rapid speed to get back to recover but is not afraid to put in a powerful slide tackle as a last resort. However, not only is she defensively strong, but she comfortably joins in the play going forward by working with her winger interchanging overlapping with them, driving down the line, and delivering accurate crosses in the box.

“I am writing this for Sophia Hayman in support of her application. Sophia is a hard-working driven player and student who has consistently shown this since her enrolment in September 2023. Her dedication and drive to progress are second to none and have been a key aspect in her becoming a regular starter in our National Football Youth League team. Sophia was also a key player in our ECFA National success in May 2024, the first national title in the ECFA competitions for our programme, in association with Chelsea FC. Sophia is an exceptional, diligent player and extremely hard-working player. Sophia works outstandingly as part of our team and her drive to succeed and progress are second to none, resulting in her performance and distance consistently being team leading. Sophia has performed consistently well in training and matches taking her to a level where she is now one of the first players picked for the National Football Youth League Premier women’s side, week in week out. Sophia’s adaptability, drive to progress and work ethic have meant that she has succeeded both academically and as a football player whilst with us. Sophia leads by example on the pitches both at training and in matches and any programme will be lucky to have Sophia, as are we. If you have any questions or require any more information, I am happy to be contacted.”
— Mr Millard - Director of Chelsea FC Football Education Programme – Blenheim High
“Sophia is an exemplary student. She is dedicated, conscientious and always willing to get involved in school activities ranging from sporting activities, having played for the school football team since Year 7, to presenting class and year assemblies. Sophia’s excellent attitude to learning has been reflected in the progress she has made in a wide range of subjects, including having achieved her target grade 7 in Mathematics in gcse exams as well as a level 9 in Physical Education. This is very commendable and shows her capacity for balancing school work and extracurricular activities as she has achieved this alongside maintaining her commitment to playing football for Surrey county as well as JPL Epsom and Ewell colts. She has also gained a place on the schools Chelsea football programme. Sophia has gained numerous reward points in school recognising her enthusiasm, independence and commitment to achieving the best and I would consider her a valuable asset to any future educational establishment.”
— Leona Ogden - Tutor throughout secondary school.
